Carplus and AON Risk Services have provided an insurance scheme for car clubs that offers comprehensive insurance specifically designed for car clubs, and is only available for clubs using Vauxhall vehicles. Eligibility for membershipMembership shall be available to members of approved car clubs who: are at least 21 years of age and no older than 75 years of age (with existing car club members permitted to remain up to age 77) are full driving licence holders who have held their driving licence for a minimum of 12 months, or a minimum of 24 months for those aged 23 or 24, or a minimum of 36 months for those aged 21/22 or 76/77. Those using a Multi Purpose Vehicle must have held their licence for a minimum of 24 months and be aged between 23 and 75 years have no endorsements on their licence for those aged 21 to 24, and no more than one minor offence (those starting CD, MS, MW, PC, SP or TS) for drivers aged 25 to 75 years have had no accidents (or documentary proof of not more than one no-fault accident) in the last three years for drivers aged 23 or 24, and no more than one accident for those aged 25 and over. Those aged 21/22 or 76/77 must not have had an accident in the past 3 years. All drivers to submit valid driving licence, identification and address verification with a completed satisfactory insurance proposal form prior to acceptance. The User, when driving, is not covered by personal accident cover in the event that they are injured in an accident that is later proven to be their fault. Basic excess: £100 In the event of an accident that is later proven not to be the fault of the User, the insurance company will make a claim against the third party. The User is covered for the value of the club vehicle, and unlimited cover for death and bodily injury to themselves, and passengers. Excess: none Theft of vehicleEach vehicle is covered in case of theft as long as it is reported immediately, which would normally be within 6 hours, security procedures having been followed. Theft excess for unsecured vehicle: £1000 PossessionsThe insurance does not cover theft of personal possessions or valuables from the car. Uninsured Loss RecoveryThe User is fully covered for an accident that is later proven to be the fault of a third party who is uninsured. WindscreensThe User is covered for damage to the windscreen during the hire period. Windscreen excess £50, as long as the designated repair company (currently Auto Windscreens) are used; otherwise it will be equal to the basic excess NB: insurance cover will be void if a user has not been truthful about any prior insurance claims, licence endorsements, any medical condition which could affect qualification for insurance cover. |
