Terms and ConditionsHow to become a member or renew your membershipTo become a member you must fill in a Membership Application Form and Insurance Form and submit payment in the form of a cheque or a completed Standing Order Form. You must also read and sign a Contract between yourself and Hour Car. You must produce your current driving licence with details of all penalty points. A copy of this will be taken for our records. You must provide proof of your identity and two proofs of address. The acceptable proofs of this are given below. Joining CostsYour one-off joining fee is £25 (which covers the cost of your insurance approval and your security key to the vehicle keysafe). Individual annual membership is £100 (or if paying monthly, £10 per month). Family membership - some families may have need for more than one driver - the first member pays the full membership fee (£100) with a reduced fee for an additional driver of £50 . This would be subject to normal enrolment rules covering age, penalty points, etc. Business/Organisation membership - The organisation pays an initial membership fee of £100 with an administration fee (please contact us for further information) for each additional named driver. Each driver would be subject to normal enrolment rules covering age, penalty points, etc. Address and identity checks Driving licence, plus two official address documents, plus one identity check document. Or driving licence, plus two official address documents, plus signed letter from existing club member (member for 1 year at least). If self-employed or unemployed, the applicant is required to produce driving licence, plus three official address documents, plus one identity check document. Official documents accepted to verify name and address must be dated within last six months and preferably consecutive recent documents if same type. These include originals of:
Letter verified by Carplus and written by existing club user or club coordinator who has been a member for a least 1 year, vouching for person's identity and confirmation of address Insurance ExcessesIn the event of an accident, which is later proven to be the fault of the User, the User has fully comprehensive coverage. This means that a claim can be made to cover;
The User, when driving, is not covered by personal accident cover in the event that they are injured in an accident that is later proven to be their fault
